Filip Pejovic
Partner
Filip Pejovic is a Partner at Achkar Law with more than eight years of experience in employment and labour litigation, shareholder disputes, and breach of contract claims. He works with both individuals and organizations to resolve workplace disputes and broader legal conflicts and, while prepared to advocate firmly in a hearing room, looks for practical resolutions wherever they serve the client’s broader objectives.
Filip’s interest in law began while volunteering to organize campaigns for a student labour studies society, where he gained valuable insight into workplace dynamics and fairness. That early experience shaped his collaborative, client-focused approach to challenges such as wrongful dismissal, contract disputes, and human rights matters.
Filip began his legal career articling at a respected estates and real estate firm in downtown Toronto, where he managed complex contractual and property-related disputes. That early exposure to high-stakes civil matters continues to inform the breadth he brings to his clients’ files today.
Filip has appeared before the courts and administrative tribunals at every stage of a matter. He acted as counsel for an employee in Aden v. Toronto (City), 2024 HRTO 339, successfully resisting a summary hearing; defended an employer in a union certification in Teamsters Local Union No. 230 v. Henderson Construction; and was counsel on a successful intervenor motion before the Court of Appeal in Baker v. Van Dolder’s Home Team Inc., 2025 ONCA 829.
Outside the office, Filip enjoys walking, basketball, chess, and following the Boston Red Sox, including an annual trip to Boston to cheer them on. Something clients are often surprised to learn is that he completed eight grades of practical piano.
