Alexandra is an Associate Lawyer with Achkar Law, focusing on employment law, human rights law, corporate commercial disputes, and litigation. Alexandra has a diversified background in litigation, which includes family, criminal, and international law disputes.
Alexandra obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she oversaw the operations of the school’s Intellectual Property clinic, drafted legal articles for one of the school’s online journals, and completed an internship at the United Nation’s International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. She additionally participated in the Walsh Family Law Moot and International Criminal Court Moot, placing second and third respectively.
Before attending law school, Alexandra completed a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Legal Studies. She subsequently worked with an Ottawa NGO as a project coordinator of social and political media campaigns and with a clinical psychology practice, where she focused on the application of legislation pertaining to health information access and privacy, third-party insurance disputes, and academic and employment rights.
In her free time, Alexandra enjoys travelling, skydiving and scuba diving.
