Clifford Singh
Partner | Employment & Litigation Lawyer
Clifford Singh is a Partner at Achkar Law whose practice focuses on employment law, corporate commercial disputes, and litigation. He has represented parties in the Superior Court and before numerous administrative tribunals, and he hosts Achkar Law’s employment law webinar series.
Clifford brings an extensive litigation background to his employment work, having conducted over 3,000 examinations and appeared in hundreds of contested court appearances. He began articling at one of southwestern Ontario’s largest litigation firms before moving to a boutique insurance defence firm, where he became a leading fraud investigation lawyer. He then spent more than a decade advocating for clients before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, and the Superior Court, appearing in several hundred mediations and pre-trials along the way. He takes a pragmatic, practical, and client-centred approach aimed at strong results while reducing his clients’ stress, time, and cost. Something clients are often surprised to learn is that, while he is a fierce litigator, he is most interested in serving them as well as he can, which often means finding creative ways to avoid litigation altogether.
Before his career in law, Clifford earned a Specialist designation in Philosophy from the University of Toronto, St. George campus, where he served as an editor of the undergraduate philosophy journal Noesis, and went on to obtain his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario.
Outside the office, Clifford enjoys reading, classic film, and stand-up comedy.
